A place that does everything with donuts... how could you possibly say no?!
I went here yesterday for lunch with my boss and coworker and there was pretty much nothing left on our plates. I'm a huge breakfast fan, so I got the french-ee... it was delicious! I love french toast... and this didn't disappoint. Personally, I like my bacon fatty so I wasn't keen on the bacon (which is normal since most people like it crispy) so that was the only thing left on my plate. My boss ordered Phat Club with a side of mac n cheese. The sandwich looked interesting (and he said it was great), the mac n cheese looked amazing (he said it was). My coworker got the Notcha Normal Enchilada... he said it was interestingly good. Also - our waitress was really nice and friendly. It was a good choice for business trip to town! -

I was visiting San Antonio for a conference; one of the nights there I craved dessert and this was the only place open around 10pm so ended up going here. And boy ! Glad I did !!
They have an extensive menu of different kinds of donuts (their dessert specialty!). Since they were out of their famous signature 'bidi bidi bon bon' donut, I got the 'heavenly hash' - a freshly fried hot donut with chocolate fudge icing, marshmallow fluff, brownie bits, chocolate chips and chocolate drizzle. It was absolutely finger-liking delicious!! Nice and crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside with so much yummy oozy chocolate. It was bigger than the usual donuts too. Being able to eat it outside on the patio by the pretty San Antonio river walk was an addition perk !
I did not try anything else there but they have a standard Mexican-American bar menu.
Definitely recommend dropping by here for a sweet bite on your leisurely San Antonio river walk stroll. -

Gourdough's (Albeit not a native of SA) totally knocks the "Don't eat at the riverwalk" adage into the water!
We have come back numerous times when we find ourself en el centro de San Antonio to try their different donuts. So far the novios favorite is their Dirty South - a must try if you are craving some potato and gravy. I'm partial to their Count Gourdough Cristo Donut Sandwich. If you love the monte cristo, it's definitely a fun twist on it!
I highly recommend their Twisted Eggs - Deviled eggs taken up two levels. Super good and REALLY HARD to share.
Their libations are okay, though I don't really recall any that stood out to us. The service was great - friendly faces and people, very helpful to the questions we had.
While downtown locations are a little bit of a pain to get to, if you find your self caminando junto al aqua - be sure to pick yourself up a doughnut!! -

Stopped here for a quick dinner. We didn't want something too heavy. Ordered the public salad. It was loaded and HUGE totally could've shared it! But it was delicious. The poppy seed dressing set it off. Also it came with a "doughnut" shaped garlicky bread roll. It was sooo good. The service was super fast. Our appetizers (deep fried deviled eggs). Came out at the same time as our salads.
The lemonade was super sweet and tangy, just how I like it. Very nice spot on the river. They have both indoor and outdoor door seating. For dessert we shared a donut covered in chocolate with marble icing. It was soooooooo freaking good!! I only wish I had a bigger appetite there are so many options on this menu.
Don't forget the photo with the donut mascot! -

Stopped here during a recent visit to Riverwalk. The outside seating is nicely shaded. We saw donuts on the menu and were sold. I had the Phat Club (turkey club on a donut sandwich) and my husband had a Cuban melt on potato cake buns. The sandwiches were awesome- we've never had anything like it. Even though we were stuffed we would have kept going for the amazing donut and potato cake buns. We had $4 mimosas and they were also delicious (and pretty strong). Service was great. They take a photo of your party at your table and give you a complimentary print to take home (you can also purchase a full size photo with no advertisement on it). Highly recommend eating here!
